Getting to Kalkan: Dalaman, Antalya and the journey to your villa
Look beyond the flight when planning arrival. Compare airports, transfers and car hire, then arrange the final stretch to your holiday home.

Arriving in Kalkan is easier when the flight, luggage, group size and villa address are planned together. Think about the time you will reach the front door, not simply the time your aircraft lands. A little preparation leaves more of the first evening for settling in.
Dalaman or Antalya?
Compare the whole journey. A cheaper flight may lose its advantage after a late landing, a connection or the cost of onward travel. Add baggage and a door-to-door transport quotation before making the final choice.
For Dalaman, the official DHMİ transport page lists Havaş, Muttaş, taxis and car hire among the available options. This does not mean every service goes directly to Kalkan. Check the route, final stop and any connection for your actual travel date.
DHMİ’s Antalya airport information lists Kalkan at 229 kilometres from the airport. Do not convert that distance into a guaranteed arrival time: the road chosen, traffic, stops and driving conditions all matter. Allow a comfortable margin after a night flight.
When might a private transfer help?
A transfer to the villa may be convenient with small children, several bags or anyone who would rather not drive on arrival. Give the provider both guest and luggage numbers, along with child-seat requirements. The vehicle needs to accommodate all three.
Confirm the flight number, terminal, waiting arrangements and what happens if the flight is delayed. A drop-off in Kalkan is not necessarily the same as reaching the villa’s door. Ask your accommodation team about the final approach and make sure the destination is included in the agreed price.
Think beyond the airport when hiring a car
A car may make visits to Patara, Kaputaş and the villages easier. If most days will be spent at the villa with only occasional trips into town, compare the total cost with other transport options.
Ask the hire company about collection hours, late returns, the deposit, insurance, mileage and fuel. Check whether luggage still fits comfortably once child seats are installed. Confirm parking and access at the villa before choosing the size of vehicle.
Plan the final connection
If using public transport, check more than the first service out of the airport. Work out how you will get from your arrival point in Kalkan to the villa, and what happens if it is late. Use current operator information rather than an old screenshot of a summer timetable.
Before travelling, share your flight details, group and luggage numbers, villa address and transport plan. Keep the arrival contact number available, and agree how to communicate a delay. Check the villa’s check-in time and decide when to buy the first essentials.
Send us your arrival details so we can discuss access and preparations at the house. Keep the first evening quiet, then start exploring with our three-day Kalkan itinerary.
